"You're welcome to them," Papyrus says, magnanimous in returning Sans's food to him, triumphant in having nudged his brother into sharing a meal. He considers the tart a little longer - this was the batch he'd drizzled with a little motor oil, having some idea that oil being good for machinery made it a great choice for a healthy visual contrast. Alas, the oil's smeared a bit and bled into the tart filling over the... the week and a day since he made them, so the effect is a little spoiled.

...It still smells more appetizing than the cold fries, and a bite confirms it tastes better, too. Maybe the crust is bland, from being in the fridge a week, but the filling and topping are energizing and tasty alike, for all he'd be hard-pressed to describe these flavors to anyone else.

"I will... have to make another batch of these," he decides, taking a second bite. "So far it's home-cooking one, takeout zero!"

If Papyrus knew Sans's train of thought about the stove, he would loudly agree - the last thing they need in this house is more gathering dust, for any reason. As is, he's not actively thinking about his demise or the possibility he'd only be able to charge anymore, and he's quick to catch on to the idea attached to the fry.

"Aha, testing another of the variables, huh? I guess it might not be about the home-cooked aspect," he concedes, accepting the fry and dragging it along the top of the tart. A little of the filling sticks with it, but that's fine! They're testing things!

A taste test later, and Papyrus smiles something bittersweet over the conclusions these tests are leading them to. "Okay... Having some sort of condiment, is a clear improvement. Who knew salt and oil went well together?"
