[It's like the kitchen is becoming an abstract art installation, first the blue, now this milky rainbow spreading across table, floor, and clothing... His voice goes even drier.]

Yeah, amazingly enough. Being mostly computer, comes with computer powers. [Computer powers like the ability to take a picture of this scene, slap a caption of WHY over it, and send the resulting image to Sans's phone without moving.]
spaghettimonster: (VERY COOL!)

[Papyrus snorts at the 'whole look', because it sure is. He's not arguing that. He's mostly arguing the choice of what look to go for.]

Well, I can go for that cool muscled look. It's mostly aesthetic... so, there's room for extra chips in there. [Wait, he wasn't planning on admitting that part of this is getting redundancy for himself... Oh well.] Because, I sure haven't figured out how to! It'd make for a much cleaner workshop, if I did... [Efficient, too. Imagine having all his tools in reach, in a single toolbox.]

A muscled tower...? [The idea of the computer he uses for running the helicopter just having a muscular arm sticking out the side sure is an image, but not one that brings delight. The point of the muscles is partly that advertisements are full of them as a physical standard of admirable beauty, random devices like stoves don't need it.

He shakes his head slowly, bemused by it all, but more than ready to use the ridiculousness as an excuse to shove away admissions of worries.]
Aesthetically better than spilled milk, but! Consider instead! Cool spikes, of a size to fit some chips in.
spaghettimonster: (OH-HO!)

Spike puzzle to unencrypt the contents, huh...? [That's not a terrible idea, at least for making it more challenging for people to get into. If only because so many - monsters and humans and ex-humans alike - don't seem to bother with them. And it'd be another little slice of home, which would be fitting for the back-up drives of memories...]

I guess it's just not the same, when you live above the scary caves... [He mutters it, as much as Papyrus mutters anything, with a grimace to the side. Monster puzzles are half entertainment and mental enrichment, or supposed to be, but half old-fashioned defense mechanisms. More and more for slowing and annoying potential enemies than killing them, but...] Anyway, that's a great idea!! I'll gladly put it to good use.

[At first, he nods along to the idea, taking a couple of mental notes on avenues to pursue. Even beyond the whole instigating transformations thing, it'd be good to know how nanotech works, it seems versatile and people like Robotnik are still working on it. Then it sinks in that Sans sounds entirely too knowledgeable about this, meaning either he's done research in the last week (which his phone's made clear he hasn't!) or he was holding back. And a look at Sans's perma-grin gives that sorry not sorry vibe. Papyrus scowls.]

...The next time you're being weird, I'm filling your room with bananos.

[Does that mean nanomachines? Does that mean bananas? He's not clarifying, just letting the ambiguous threat hang in the air between them. If there's anything their delayed death / continued life / whatever this is has taught him, there will be an opportunity to make good on it.]
spaghettimonster: (I AM A MOST EXCELLENT LISTENER!)

[personal profile] spaghettimonster 2022-04-11 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[It's a relief to know that can still happen, and it's enough to break Papyrus's scowl for a few seconds. He pulls it back up, smiling all the while, to continue with:] Oh, yeah, laugh it up while you can! But we'll see who's laughing, when I paint your room yellow. [With bananos.]
spaghettimonster: (BROTHERLY SUPPORT)

[personal profile] spaghettimonster 2022-04-11 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
That you brought it on yourself?? [He is not managing to hide his laughter from his own voice, try as he might to sound stern.]
spaghettimonster: (AEIOU)

[personal profile] spaghettimonster 2022-04-11 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a two or three second pause as Papyrus thinks that over, then does a quick search.] ...You weren't really worried about gray goo, were you?? [Popular apocalypse scenario as it apparently is, he was aiming for cool robots, not goo.]
spaghettimonster: (SIGHHHHH)

[personal profile] spaghettimonster 2022-04-11 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
[He sighs, dramatically, emphasizing the drama to obscure how much of it is a sincere sigh.] Yeah, okay. I guess that's a point. But what's science without a little accidental goo? [Somewhere, a royal scientist sneezes.]
spaghettimonster: (DRAMATIC SWOON)

[personal profile] spaghettimonster 2022-04-11 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Intentional goo just isn't the same...... [Another dramatic sigh, long-suffering, put-upon, the whole shebang.] Whatever! If I want to make everyone robots again, I'll ask you first. [To agree to become a robot, or whether he should use nanotechnology that way, he doesn't bother to specify.]
spaghettimonster: (I HAVE ONLY GOOD FEELINGS ABOUT THIS.)

Thanks!! [He's not sure how seriously to take the offer, considering, but let it not be said Papyrus neglected a politeness.

It's something of a conversation ender, a good time to go gathering cleaning supplies to deal with the spills and splashes before they actually go staining anything. And he does so, starting with the bucket by the window, and working his way towards the milk - half in hopes Sans will be gone by the time he gets there. It's a window of time to think, mulling over the various posts theorizing nanotechnology goo apocalypse, and to think about... Well, the last time goo was part of their lives. Their arms to start, their bodies melting together...

Come to think of it, Sans's wing had turned robotic before that happened. Was there a chance... even a slim one... that they'd melted together because of nanotechnology??? He's not sure how that would result in his soul being visible, unless it had only been a holographic projection or something...? His face goes on a whole journey, thinking as he works.]
spaghettimonster: (I'M FINE!)

[personal profile] spaghettimonster 2022-04-12 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Uhhh. [He doesn't want to blurt out the whole thing - that'd be alarming! When they've just recovered from the bucket surprise!] I've moved on to, wings.

[The mechanical wing is part of it, anyway. Making himself wings wouldn't be any good if they were nanotech and melted, leaving him slightly less flight-capable but up in the air. And he does some system errors about incompatibility, when they finally split back apart. What if it was nanotech responsible, and whatever Robotnik's up to will cause the same...? At least they've dealt with it before, making it that much easier to deal with other, related things.]
