Yeah. [He reaches for it reflexively, as if it might have gone somewhere in between getting it back and now. He doesn't like having his head messed with, not at all.] Back home I've got this friend--we used to tell knock knock jokes back and forth through this big door. Didn't know her name for the longest time, not 'til she came looking for the kid.
[Sayori has heard references to "the kid" before, and would know their name is Frisk. Though Sans has never mentioned them more than in passing, it's clear Sans has some fondness for them.]
[Her shoulders slump slightly, releasing a bit of the tension she didn't realize she was holding.] Okay. Good. [She spares him having to further acknowledge her obvious worry by explaining. Given what she saw of his memories in Event Square and how she reacted to "forgetting" about someone important to her, it's pretty self-evident, anyway.
She finally takes a bite of that cookie.] She sounds nice. All of your friends sound really nice.
I'll try not to say anything too weird. [Really, he means he won't say anything related to their existential situation. He'll be weird in other ways, of course.]
Seems like everybody from your world showed up all at once, huh?
[Monika, too. He thinks Sayori probably still counts her as a friend, but he also thinks Sayori isn't including her in "you should meet them".]
[She nods, and then there's a tick of hesitation where she's weighing whether to be optimistic or to be honest.] I've been hoping they would, but— but after Wonderland I was kinda thinking they wouldn't.
[She wasn't convinced that they wouldn't. But there was a heavy doubt that wasn't present before. Acknowledging its existence puts a guilty pit in her stomach, but considering she's here regarding Sans's personal traumas it only seems fair to be honest.]
[Sans can't blame her--hoping people will show up but expecting them not to has been his entire approach to other people from his own world since he's shown up.] Even if it's complicated, you're glad to see 'em, yeah?
[Another nod. It's most complicated with Monika, of course, but...even still, Monika deserves the second chance that the Bureau offers too.
There's a hint of a smile at the corner of her mouth as she regards the cookie. Remembers when Sans offered her one after chasing off the jellyfish.] Thanks.

Toriel. That's who I forgot back in Wonderland.

[He isn't very optimistic about that, though. He's never been very optimistic, in general.]

Yeah, you have to. I'll introduce you to my friends too. They're here now but it's—
[She stares contemplatively at the chocolate chips inside of the cookie.] Well, it's kind of weird.
[Both for reasons that Sans knows or can guess already, and reasons he's unaware of.] But you should meet them anyway, they're nice.

I won't tell 'em anything you're not ready for.
[You know, the whole existential crisis thing.]

You're a good friend.
